    Mission:

    GPI has embarked on an enterprise-wide multi-year journey to transform data quality, business processes and enabling technology to support the growth strategy of the organization. As part of the transformation effort, we are in the early stages of building out a formal MDM organization. ****

    The Sr. Manager, Global MDM - Processes is a new role to support the company’s growth transformation roadmap by establishing and maintaining processes to support sustainable, scalable master data governance/data life cycle across multiple data domains, SAP and non-SAP platforms, and business processes.

    This role requires previous strategic and tactical data management experience as well as a strong understanding of SAP S4/HANA and/or SAP ECC and the cross functional integration points of enterprise master data in a manufacturing environment.


    How you will support GPI:

    • Engage with senior leaders and business stakeholders to assess and understand master data business requirements, proactively communicates project plans and execution status
    • Interact as a leader on global, regional and site projects under the direction of the Global Data Governance Office Lead
    • Collaboratively organizes and leads third-party resources and cross functional teams to document and maintain multi domain global master data policies, processes, data standards, RACI, Metrics/KPIs, SLA’s, training documentation and desktop procedures across SAP and non-SAP technology platforms
    • Utilize third-party resources and cross functional teams to establish and maintain formal documentation of master data architecture/lineage, metadata dictionaries and business glossaries
    • Ensure documentation and data management process controls are established and operating effectively to support both internal and external data security/audit/compliance requirements
    • Will develop and manage communication strategies and tools to effectively educate the organization on global data governance and its relationship to desired business outcomes
    • Routinely reports on the overall health of data across multiple data domains compared to data quality standards and metrics
    • Will manage the relationship and oversee the work of third-party data specialists accountable for processing master data requests as well as performing special MDM projects
    • Proactively works with Master Data Process Domain Leads and other team members utilizing innovative and resourceful tactics to harmonize and streamline master data quality processes and controls across multiple domains
    • Liaison with MDM Technology Lead to prioritize, develop, and implement automated solutions for data governance
    • Prepare and provide proposals for new policies, processes, standards, technologies, etc. and present to Global Data Governance Council (GDGC) for approval
    • Provide project management support for M&A’s, system conversions, and other master data related projects prioritized by the GDGC
    • Prepare and perform training and educate the organization on data governance – the why and the requirements
    • Actively advocate for a data-driven culture – be viewed as championing the criticality of MDM

    Education, experience, technical skills requirements:

    • Minimum, bachelor’s degree in a STEM or Data Science degree preferred – Masters a plus
    • Demonstrate high performance leadership standards and builds/develops high-performance teams – 8+ years leading direct and indirect teams
    • 10+ years of progressive master data experience in both strategic and tactical roles
    • Advanced Excel skills – strong SQL, Power BI, Power Query a plus
    • Expert hands-on experience with data analysis techniques and tools; strong attention to detail; efficiently works with large volumes of data and data related processes; can easily pivot between strategic and tactical execution as needed
    • Previous hands-on experience working directly with MDM technologies that enable automated governance of data as well as capture and maintain master data architecture/lineage and metadata management (Informatica, Talend, SAP MDG, SAP Information Steward, SAP Business Objects Data Services, Winshuttle, RPA/AI, Profisee, Collibra, etc.)
    • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to all levels of management, including senior leaders
    • Deep technical and functional understanding of SAP S4/HANA and/or SAP ECC and the master data tables and field structure/usage – experience governing and integrating Non-SAP master data
    • Functional understanding of how master data is used across business processes (P2P, O2C, H2R, R2R, etc.), its associated value levers, control requirements, and its impact on desired business process outcomes
    • Understanding of regulatory compliance with regional, national & international data privacy regulations
    • Experience organizing and leading effective cross functional teams to inclusively develop enterprise documentation requirements for master data
    • Demonstrated data literacy/change management experience - ability to influence others to modify behaviors and provide support for the adoption of data governance policies at various levels of the organization
    • Proven greenfield experience in transforming complex business processes and shepherding change at scale
    • Ability to deconstruct and reconstruct complex business processes and visualize with process flow diagrams
    • Actively invests in understanding of best practices in the MDM space via internal and external sources
    • Solid project management skills to guide data quality improvement and associated technology implementation projects
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities/projects with great attention to detail
    • Facilitation and conflict resolution skills
    • Relentless commitment and passion to promote the quality and continuous improvement of data assets that deliver desired business outcomes
