    MISSION: 

    GPI has embarked on an enterprise wide multi-year journey to transform data quality, business processes and enabling technology to support the growth strategy of the organization.  As part of the transformation effort, we are in the early stages of building out a formal MDM organization.

     

    The Global MDM – Technology Lead is a new role that will build a high-performing team consisting of both internal and third-party team members to efficiently develop and maintain MDM solutions that minimize the “mechanics” of governing master data throughout the data life cycle in multiple instances of SAP as well as Non-SAP systems across the domains of customer, vendor, materials (demand, supply, maintenance), finance, and employees. 

     

    This role requires previous strategic and tactical data governance technologies experience as well as a strong understanding of SAP S4/HANA and SAP ECC and the cross functional business process integration points of enterprise master data in a manufacturing environment.

     

    HOW YOU WILL SUPPORT GPI:

    • As the primary liaison between the Global Data Governance Council/Office and the MDM technology resources, will lead the successful conversion of prioritized MDM technology projects into desired business outcomes
    • Interact as the MDM technical leader on global, regional and site projects under the direction of the Global Data Governance Office Lead
    • Proactively seek to understand strategic and tactical priorities of MDM as well as the manual processes associated with execution – leads and architects the efficient development of innovative solutions to automate high touch, subjective, repetitive processes to better leverage functional Data Analysts to derive value from master data analysis outputs
    • Exposure to and understanding of business processes supported (P2P, O2C, R2R, H2R, etc.) at a level to guide functional resources through effective technology designs in SAP BODs, MDG, and other master data governance technologies
    • Advanced experience validating the quality of the master data technical development work before delivering to the business/functional teams for testing and validation
    • Create and maintain technical documentation for MDM technology and underlying codification - complying with change management controls, security, systems architecture, and audit requirements
    • Provide timely and high-quality technical support (ticket resolution, uptime, maintenance, enhancements) for MDM technologies (SAP MDG, Data Services, Information Steward, metadata management solutions, etc.)
    • Collaboratively introduce and develop MDM technologies that scale with the growth of the company; provide research and insights for strategic consideration; effectively sell ideas to key stakeholders; secure funding and execute
    • Technically enable the master data integrity between the digital core, data lakes, warehouses, control towers, portals, IBP, etc.
    • Lead and support M&A, systems conversions, and other master data projects from a technology perspective
    • Technically enable both active and passive data governance solutions as well as continuous monitoring of master data quality
    • Develop and maintain tools that efficiently provide scorecards/metrics/KPIs/detailed master data exceptions to standards
    • Document both functional and technical requirements as well as scripts for both unit and system integration testing
    • Develop documentation and administer training for both functional and technical consumers of MDM technologies

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum, bachelor’s degree - STEM or other Technical degree preferred – Masters a plus – previous  in-depth supply chain and or manufacturing experience a plus
    • Demonstrate high performance leadership standards and build/develop high-performance teams –10+ years leading direct and indirect teams
    • 8+ years of progressive technical master data experience in both strategic and tactical roles
    • 5+ years direct demonstrable ability to plan and lead the design and implementation of Master Data related solutions in large global corporations
    • Significant hands-on experience and expert knowledge in SAP ECC, S4/HANA, Data Services, Information Steward, SAP MDG suite of technologies
    • Information strategy experience – strategic technology planning and execution, policy development and maintenance
    • Strong knowledge base in fundamental data architecture principles and data management technologies, specifically in a core SAP-oriented system landscape coupled with multiple Non-SAP systems
    • Solid understanding of how master data is consumed across business processes (P2P, O2C, H2R, R2R, etc.), the associated value levers, control requirements, and the impact on desired business outcomes – ability to connect the dots between technical design, development and functional execution
    • Technical enablement capabilities in the areas of metadata management, data lineage/flows, interfaces, data quality, and advanced data governance approaches
    • Deep technical and functional understanding of SAP S4/HANA and/or SAP ECC and the master data tables and field structure/usage – experience integrating Non-SAP master data
    • Technical, creative, and functional ability to guide technical team members to efficiently build solutions and perform troubleshooting and resolution activities in given MDM technologies, to support the completion of deliverables in a fast-paced environment
    • Actively invests in understanding of best practices in the MDM space via internal and external sources; continuous exploration and benchmarking of in house solutions to other solutions in the market
    • Experience in transforming complex business processes with technology
    • Experience organizing and leading effective cross functional teams to inclusively develop sustainable solutions to resolve data quality issues
    • Data conversion/integration experience for systems conversions and M&A’s
    • Solid project management skills to guide data quality improvement and associated technology implementation projects
    • Facilitation and conflict resolution skills
    • Strong written (technical writer level), verbal communications, and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization; ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders and stakeholders as well as business concepts to technologists
    • Ability to deconstruct and reconstruct complex business processes, visualize with process flow diagrams, and align technical enablement as needed
    • Advanced Excel skills – Strong SQL
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Hands on RPA and AI experience a plus
    • Relentless commitment and passion to promote the quality and continuous improvement of data assets that deliver desired business outcomes
    • Actively advocate for a data-driven culture – be viewed as championing the criticality of MDM
