    MISSION / SUMMARY:

     

    As the Sr. Director, Finance in the Americas Converting (AMC) business unit reporting to the CAO & SVP, Finance Americas, you will be providing financial leadership and decision-making support to the business with the aim of maximizing long-term value, cash flows and shareholder returns for Graphic Packaging International. This position offers the opportunity to partner with business leaders, lead teams to analyze operating results, drive customer profitability to improve the business, provide management with a fair assessment of key capital projects, and improve processes to achieve world class operating results through the teams that it leads:

    • AMC Central Finance, Planning and Analysis – Responsible for the long-range planning, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting and results analysis for AMC
    • AMC Consolidated Accounting – Consolidates AMC’s monthly results along with being responsible for the accounting for the division level cost centers
    • AMC Operational Reporting – Daily reporting of plant level inventories and production results to senior leadership of GPI along with other operating reports

     

    The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of experience in an Accounting / Finance role with 8+ years in a large manufacturing environment.

     

    Position will be based in Atlanta, GA at the Global Headquarters.  The role is responsible for managing, coaching, and developing a team of 4 direct reports and their teams (9 total reports) of finance/accounting employees primarily located in Atlanta.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

     

    • Leading the consolidated financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting for AMC with full P&L and balance sheet responsibilities

    • Driving accountability deep into the organization to facilitate the achievement of financial goals

    • Coordinating the strategic Long-Range Plan development and the detailed operating plans in partnership with the sales reporting and analysis team

    • Developing the monthly Day 10 financial results package and outlook presentation to be shared with the Executive leadership team

    • Executing daily operational reporting to monitor the output of the business

    • Building strong finance teams including developing the finance team’s technical and leadership skills for each region

    • Maintaining the control environment and enforcing adherence to accounting policies

    • Build strong partnerships with general managers and operations leaders to achieve business results

    • Develop and present the month end financial results support package

    • Coordinate the development of the monthly financial outlook driving plant level accountability

    • Develop and present supporting explanations for month end results requiring deep variance analysis

    • Ad hoc financial analysis of financial and operating metrics to support reporting requirements

    • Lead the Yr/Yr analysis of each region

    • Quarterly internal control certification

    • Lead the development and analysis of the annual operating plan 

    • Streamline and standardize data analysis

    • Enhance reporting accuracy and improve turnaround timeframes

    • Support and lead business unit special projects

    • Up to 15% of travel may be required.

     

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 12+ years of financial and leadership experience in a large manufacturing company
    • Experience in the paper & packaging industry preferred
    • The ideal candidate will have financial leadership experience in a manufacturing company, have led teams of senior employees and large organizations, and proven ability to communicate effectively and drive change across all levels of the organization.
    • Expert in Microsoft Excel, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP Experience a plus
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven ability to interact confidently and articulately with senior executives
    • Ability to operate credibly and diplomatically with all levels in the organization
    • Capacity to lead change and drive results through a data-driven approach and coalition building
    • Proven leadership within cross-functional teams to drive execution and business outcomes
    • Commitment to delivering on commitments and progressing finance functional initiatives
    • Strong process design capability, innovative problem-solving skills, and passion for improvement
    • Hands-on experience with standardizing and managing the automation of finance business processes

     

    EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

     

    • Four year college degree in Finance/Accounting or a similarly analytical field
    • Preferred: Professional designation (CFA or CPA) or master’s degree in finance or business administration.
    • Prior team management experience required
