Spirit Maine's manufacturing facility has been a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for more than 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.
Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.
Your Role: As the HR Business Partner (HRBP) , you will be responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. You will have the opportunity to formulate partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy, its culture, and its competition.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Plans, conducts, and coordinates a wide variety of professional-level HR activities in functions of employment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations,
- Supports, interacts, and provides support to employees and management,
- Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate,
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies,
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance,
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions),
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention,
- Assist/support FMLA, short-term disability administration,
- General knowledge of Federal and state employment laws and regulatory guidelines,
What we need from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience,
- 5+ years’ experience as an HR professional,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills,
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail,
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies,
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors,
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines,
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality, accuracy, and work quality standards,
- Exercise good judgment with strong written and verbal communication,
- Ability to maintain a realistic balance between multiple priorities,
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment, able to collaborate, be flexible and resilient,
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
