    Spirit Maine's manufacturing facility has been a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for more than 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.

    Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.


    Your role: Spirit Maine is seeking a responsible Commercial Custodian to maintain and protect our facilities. The internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants and cleaning staff. It is important to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises.

    The ideal candidate will be experienced in a commercial custodian role focused on cleanliness and sanitation. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial tasks.

    ** Job responsibilities:**

    • Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by collecting, sorting, recycling and taking out trash
    • Sweep, mop, clean floors and vacuum carpets
    • Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap, paper products)
    • Clean mirrors and windows
    • Clean and dust offices, front lobby, breakrooms and conference rooms (including microwave ovens, countertops and table tops)
    • Report damages and reorder supplies
    • Follow applicable OSHA guidelines by keeping SDS and using ‘wet floor’ and ‘cautionary’ signs when necessary

    ** What we need from you:**

    • HS diploma or GED
    • minimum of 1 year in a custodian or janitorial environment
    • Knowledge of OSHA EPA and CDC Guidelines
    • Custodial Training Certificates a plus
    • Must possess good communication skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Must have good interpersonal skills to be able to get along effortlessly with fellow employees, customers, and contractors
    • Be proactive when it comes to carrying out his/her duties
    • Must be able to work with little or no supervision
    • Must be self-motivated and diligent
    • Must be familiar or have good knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures
