    Job Description

    Who will you be working with?

    Our Global Networking team supports 260 sites worldwide as well as presence in multiple cloud environments. You will engage with other senior colleagues in designing, implementing and supporting Cloud, SaaS, WAN, LAN, WLAN and security solutions across the Wabtec Enterprise. You will have opportunities to interact with senior engineers and architects, business leaders, end users and technology vendors.

    The Wabtec Network is mission critical to our manufacturing, customer support and business support functions. As a member of our Networking team, you will be able to build on your networking skills, IT knowledge and experience while assisting with networking projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business.

    What do we want to know about you?

    _ You must have:_

    • Degree in information technology, computer science or engineering; equivalent experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
    • Minimum of 5 years of information technology experience with a focus in networking
    • An understanding flexible work hours across different worldwide time zones will be required, though work will mainly be during weekday daytime hours
    • Skilled with network monitoring concepts and standard tools
    • Skilled with TCP/IP protocols and services: OSPF, BGP, STP, DNS, DHCP
    • Skilled in troubleshooting information technology issues
    • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships and trust with vendors, site management teams and users alike
    • Proven ability to deliver while under tight timelines
    • Ability to support multiple complex projects concurrently
    • Demonstrated ability to proactively analyze and solve technology problems
    • An understanding that this position requires on site presence
    • Able and willing to travel globally, up to 25%
    • Available and willing to provide off-hours troubleshooting and break/fix support
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Willingness to learn through partnering with senior colleagues and training/earning certifications

    We would love it if you had:

    • Familiarity with Cloud and SaaS solutions used across a global enterprise environment
    • Skills with Cisco, Aruba, HP, Fortinet networking and security products
    • Strong understanding of EVPN/VxLAN, SDWAN and QoS principles
    • Experience leading and managing complex projects and adapting to changes in a dynamic environment

    What will your typical day look like?

    • Interacting with senior networking staff to develop knowledge and receive work assignments
    • Monitoring network performance and serving as an escalation point for incidents impacting operations and end users
    • Troubleshooting and resolving performance/useability issues
    • Designing and implementing modification to adapt to changing user and business needs
    • Maintaining and creating reference diagrams and documentation of network infrastructure
    • Collaborating with third-party service and support vendors to ensure maximum uptime and prompt problem remediation
    • Assisting with deploying and supporting branch site and data center wireless, LAN, WAN, cloud and SaaS networking solutions
    • Contributing to site network design requirements and preparing cost estimates by evaluating business strategies and requirements
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Regularly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods

    • Regularly required to attend meetings in person and virtually using video and audio computer equipment
    • Regularly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, such as typing
    • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
    • May occasionally include moving/installing devices in equipment racks

    Work Environment:

    • On site at the Fort Worth, TX facility
    • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, you may be exposed to cold or hot weather conditions. Production facilities may require awareness of fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

The salary rate for this role is currently $79100-112800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
