Senior Safety Coordinator
Locations: Nashville, Knoxville, or Kingsport, TN
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen our company-wide safety culture across our Tennessee operations. This role is essential in maintaining an injury-free workplace by conducting site inspections, facilitating safety initiatives, and collaborating on the development of a new digital safety management platform.
If you have 5–10 years of experience in construction or fire protection safety, a strong working knowledge of OSHA standards, and the ability to lead safety programs with confidence and collaboration — we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits at project and service locations.
Perform facility and vehicle safety inspections for compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Lead job site risk assessments to identify and control potential hazards.
Support and enhance company-wide safety initiatives, policies, and training programs.
Participate in the investigation and documentation of incidents, near-misses, and injuries.
Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations (OSHA, EM-385, and other state/local requirements).
Collaborate with management to develop and implement a new digital safety management platform.
Maintain accurate documentation of safety activities, incidents, and inspections.
Provide field coaching and assist in conducting toolbox talks or training sessions as needed.
Qualifications
Experience: 5–10 years of relevant safety experience in construction, fire protection, or related trade environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
Certifications:
OSHA 510 or OSHA 511 (required)
OSHA 500 (preferred, not required)
CPR/First Aid Trainer Certification (preferred)
Familiarity with safety management software or platforms; experience helping build or implement one is a plus.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and coach field personnel.
Highly organized self-starter who can work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable standing, walking, climbing, or working at heights as needed.
Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to travel overnight up to 25%, with up to 75% of time spent in the field.
