    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

     

    This position will be responsible for the ongoing analysis of inventory and cost of goods sold. Provides leadership in the process development, documentation, and improvements to ERP system while offering accounting support to various operating groups. This position will be instrumental in maintaining accurate work-in-progress and perpetual inventory records, setting standard cost, manufacturing variance reporting, and assisting in analysis generation and its related accuracy. 

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

     

    • Perform financial analysis regarding business performance, with the overall objective of providing assistance and guidance to Sr. Regional Finance Manager as well as General Managers for all locations within the region.
    • Conduct monthly site visits as necessary and participate in inventory count process and reconciliations.
    • Run the month end process for costs. Validate the Cost of Goods Sold as part of month end close.
    • Create, review and monitor internal controls related to inventory and cost.
    • Participate in Bill of Material (BOM) set up, maintenance and review for manufactured items and prepare cost estimate for new products.
    • Review, report and provide commentary/analysis of costs against prior periods, plan and latest forecast.
    • Controls inventory including evaluation of product cost, bill of material accuracy, period physical inventory/cycle counts, etc.
    • Review Balance Sheet accounts, reconciles and prepares associated balance sheet comments.
    • Review revenue, cost transactions, and analyze P&L variances.
    • Monitor inventory levels within the MRP system while developing management KPIs to highlight performance.
    • Prepare reports related to inventory balance and transactions. Provide guidance on cycle count process.
    • Perform various ad-hoc projects as needed.

     

    MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • 4-year college degree (Accounting), from an accredited institution.
    • Experience in manufacturing/operations environment
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with experience in implementation of financial policies and procedures.
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
    • Experience with ERP Systems Financial and Costing modules. SAP experience preferred.
    • Strong communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented and confidential environment.

      

    PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

     

    • Knowledge in data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
    • Experience with Multinational Corporations.

May possess additional education certification in this level.

    2)  Requires excellent knowledge of distribution concepts, practices and procedures a must. Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems. Must be able consistently identify critical elements, variables and alternatives to develop solutions. Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions. Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know of decisions/actions/problems. Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems.

    3)  Able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, MAC, or other technical tools in completing assignments. Microsoft Office software, Mercurygate transportation software and IT background preferred. Experience with transportation software, CzarLite and SMC software a must.  Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments. Able to mentor junior level team members in the use of tools and/or systems in the position.

    4)  Requires excellent communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand. Able to explain programs policies and procedures in language that is understood by others. Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted.

    5)  Must have strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustment to meet business needs. Excellent problem identification and solving skills required. 

    6)  Requires strong understanding of the impact of a message on the organization or customer.

    7)  Able to write with the clarity and precision necessary for the work being performed.
