EOE/AA Job Responsibilities The Department of Nursing is seeking a dynamic leader to direct nursing programs that includes an ACEN accredited associate degree nursing program, SC State approved Practical nursing program and a Certified Nursing Assistant program. Faculty includes 15 full-time instructors and 20-25 adjunct instructors. Responsibilities include curriculum development and alignment,faculty performance management, student services (student advisement, student success and progression), accreditation compliance, ongoing management of the systematic evaluation plan with assessment. The position reports to the Associate Vice President of Health Sciences and is a full-time, twelve month appointment. Minimum and Additional Requirements Master's degree in Nursing or master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Nursing plus three (3) years of nursing faculty/education experience and evidence of progressively responsible direct program administration and faculty supervision experience. Possess or be eligible for South Carolina RN licensure. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate preferred, Prior nursing education in ADN or BSN program; administrative experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership ability.Recent clinical experience in acute or chronic care.Excellent leadership skills, customer/student relation skills and computer skills are a plus. Experience with the development and revision of nursing curriculum, and ACEN accreditation standards, criteria and requirements. Additional Comments POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Promotes a student-centered, culturally diverse and adult learning environment which emphasizes teaching and learning. Provides innovative leadership in the development and growth of the programs within the department. Monitors and analyzes student attrition and retention data and collaborates with others to develop initiatives that can be implemented to maintain strong retention and success. Recommends candidates for full-time and part-time faculty appointments. Fosters a climate of academic excellence and collegiality among faculty, staff and students. Maintains an active presence within the local, state, and national nursing organizations to maintain communication, monitor needs, and determine partnerships. Remains informed of new issues, challenges, and trends within nursing and nursing education and translates those to faculty, staff, and administration. Oversees curriculum development within the department and assures that all curriculum requirements are met and quality outcomes and assessment are achieved. Builds consensus and fosters cooperation among department faculty across nursing programs. Assures that all nursing programs maintain accreditation and regulatory standards, including completion of required reports in a timely manner. Advises the Associate Vice President for Health Sciences on matters of educational policy and student issues relating to and impacting the nursing department. Maintains the currency of clinical affiliation agreements. Facilitates faculty development, including enhancing educational competencies. DUTIES TO INCLUDE : Curriculum Development, Delivery, Implementation, and Evaluation Chair/participate in committees and subcommittees. Ensure integrity of the ADN, PN and CNA curriculums. Oversee development, revision, and evaluation of courses, assessments, and additional learning resources. Implement, evaluate, and revise courses, assessments, and online learning activities using Systematic Evaluation plan (SEP). Participate in recruitment of faculty for instruction, clinical evaluation, examination, and course development. Participate in development of nursing curricula. Develop, Coordinate, and Administer Courses, Assessments, Evaluation and Additional Learning Resources Assure program fidelity in the administration of courses and assessments. Participate in ongoing evaluation and quality improvement of courses, assessments, and additional learning resources that meet ACEN and SC Board of Nursing Standards. Scheduling courses, assessments, and additional learning resources as needed by programs. Recruit, orient, and evaluate adjunct clinical and/or instructional faculty. College, Division and Dept. of Nursing Responsibilities. Participate in: Dept. of Nursing, Health Sciences Division and College-wide committees and activities. Activities supportive of the College's strategic plan and the goals of the School of Nursing. Marketing and outreach activities. Quality improvement, student satisfaction, and retention activities. Support the School's and College's strategic plans. Professional Development and Community Activities Engage in scholarly activities supportive of the School and the College including research, participation in professional organizations, and/or publications and presentations. Participate in activities in service to the profession of nursing. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities. Engage in community service. Represent the College at professional meetings and forums.
