Job Responsibilities Under general supervision, the Program Coordinator I will conduct statewide investigations of allegations of child abuse and neglect in residential institutions, foster homes, residential treatment facilities and child care facilities. Investigate reports of alleged child abuse or neglect in institutions, foster homes, facilities licensed by and/or operating in the state, residential treatment facilities, intermediate care facilities licensed by the Department of Health and Environmental Control or operated by the Department of Mental Health and child care facilities. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case information and findings in a case file and in the CAPSS data system. Meet statutory time frames for completion of investigations. Participate in regular case staffings with licensing entities, the contract unit and other pertinent parties to investigations. Provide 24-hour on-call duty seven days a week as required on a rotating basis. Plan and coordinate with the Office of General Counsel for preparation for appeal hearings or Court actions including but not limited to those scheduled through the Department of Social Services. Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of professional experience in social service programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management or relevant program experience. A Master's Degree and one (1) years of professional experience in social service programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by the Division of State Human Resources. Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and objectives for the Out of Home Abuse and Neglect (OHAN) Unit; ability to communicate effectively, ability to apply applicable laws, regulations and SCDSS policies; ability to conduct effective interviews of all parties in an investigation; must possess strong critical thinking skills and use good judgment in conducting an investigation; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to apply and use computer data systems for analysis of casework; must possess good writing skills and the ability to produce accurate and complete case documentation.
