    Title: Summer Event Coordinator

    Job Description: The coordinator will be responsible for the daily operational functions for June Graduations and Summer Conference Management.

    Responsibilities include the following:

    • Provide outstanding experience for clients, guests, and support services.
    • Ensure the execution of graduations and summer conference events through regular timely communications, program support, and excellent customer service.
    • Ensure all logistical information is submitted accurately and according to deadlines.
    • Provide all the following 15 days prior to their event: housing guarantees, dining guarantees, collect housing assignments, and facility & av requests.
    • Provide clients with accurate invoices prior to and after the event.
    • Collect payments according to contract/agreed terms.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree by May 2024
    • Experience working in customer service environment
    • Strong organizational skills and communication skills
    • Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and compassionate
    • Ability to problem solve and work independently

    Days/ Hours: Monday – Friday (April 15 – June1) & Wednesday – Sunday Friday, 12 pm – 8 pm (June 2 – August 16). Evening & weekend hours required during summer.

    Begin/End: April 15 – August 16. Up to 35 hours per week. Not to exceed 650 hours.

    Reports to: Event Manager ****

    Where will they work: ROTC 206B/Donovan Community Room

    Hourly Salary range: $17-18/hr.

    Budget range salary - $ 11,050 – $23,400

    This position may be relocated to any of St. John’s University’s physical locations at any time.

  • Qualifications
    • Associates Degree in Manufacturing Processes, Robotics or related field or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum three (3) years manufacturing or related technical, hand on experience.
    • Previous Stamping and Laser experience.
    • Proficient in troubleshooting and correcting work flow problems.
    • Root cause / problem solving ability.
    • Experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts.
    • Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast paced work environment.
    • Ability to visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment and tooling, understand the relationships of factors affecting a given situation, be attentive to detail, and continually seek to improve work processes.
    • Knowledge of automated processes including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems and how they interact with each other.
