This Business Analyst position will be responsible for compiling, analyzing and reporting budgeted and actual crop results to Agricultural Operations department, corporate finance, senior management, and outside growers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain database of planting, harvest and receiving data.
- Prepare Agronomic reports for Ag Ops staff.
- Present scope, risk and P&L analysis of proposed contracts for corporate approval.
- Prepare P&L and grower performance reports for Ag Ops dept.
- Support in preparation of monthly forecast to ensure meeting corporate deadline.
- Support finance in preparation of annual budget in regards to Growing costs, crop timing and volumes.
- Prepare, analyze and investigate variances from monthly forecast and annual budget.
- Communicate Variances to corporate finance department.
- Prepare and present Growers metrics to Grower in Monthly meetings.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis to enable management to make informed decisions and support the analyses with variance explanations, root causes, and opportunities to improve performance.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentation to include key financial metrics for management
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to assist in answering analytical questions and participate in various projects, as required
- Partner with Business Process & System Improvement to integrate tools and technologies to produce the reports and analysis.
- Partner with business functional areas to provide financial insights, recommendations, and best practices to help the company make effective resource allocation decisions.
MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 4 year College Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field, from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience.
- MUST HAVE 2+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN FINANCE OR ANALYTICAL ROLE
- MUST HAVE 2+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN FARMING, GROWER ACCOUNTING OR AGRICULTURAL MANAGEMENT.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication (i.e. oral and written) skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently when necessary.
PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
- Previous budgeting, manufacturing, cost accounting, inventory management, and inventory control experience.
- BI, Host Analytic or other legacy systems experience.
- Advanced knowledge and technical acumen for the analysis of business results.
- Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and International Financial Reporting Standards.
