Management and staff in Kofax’s Configuration Management (Engineering) job family help the company to ensure the highest quality product releases through centralized management and oversight of various configuration management systems, processes, standards, and tools. The position of Engineer is a core, entry-level departmental role and appointees are expected to perform whole core departmental tasks; albeit more basic tasks by comparison to Senior Engineers/Specialists and above.
Engineers will perform some of the following work and be involved in other aspects, as assigned:
- Developing scalable, sustainable and highly effective systems, processes, standards and tools for centralized configuration management and product release:
- Researches and improves methods of production and configuration management processes based on industry standards, best practices and technological advances
- Leads the review, decision-making process, documentation and implementation of updated/enhanced configuration management processes, procedures, standards and tools
- Where appropriate/applicable, may design updated processes, procedures, standards and/or tools
- Supporting Core Engineering and Quality Assurance Engineering in the development and management of product builds (sets-up product builds, writes build routines and monitors product build throughout all intervals to release). Also maintains the build system and helps to ensure continuous automation and enhanced effectiveness/efficiencies of the build process
- Managing assigned project development tools; adding and removing users, establishing user permissions, enhancing the tools, training others in the use of such tools, etc.
- Maintaining current project team and release status documentation and reporting to internal departments
- Performing some programming as assigned
- Leading product releases:
- Installing, implementing, and configuring Release engineering servers
- Testing various deployment configurations
- Executing, validating and archiving product releases
- Overseeing and maintaining the source code management system. Including:
- Adding/removing users
- Establishing user permissions
- Adding/removing projects
- Managing source code change control and change reporting
- Tracking and documenting product configuration changes
- Directing/updating branching and merge issues
- Overseeing and managing the defect tracking system. Includes adding/removing users, establishing user permissions, troubleshooting and resolving issues, etc. Providing training on configuration management systems, processes, standards and tools as and when appropriate
- Supporting other internal and external partners/stakeholders/customers, as and when appropriate, in responding to product release and/or other configuration management-specific inquiries or other needs
- Staying abreast of industry and field developments; remaining current in the latest technologies and functionalities, as well as ever-evolving needs of customers and their customers

Required Experience
Candidates for this position should hold the following qualifications, have the following experience, and be able to demonstrate the following competencies to be considered as a suitable applicant. - Bachelors Degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred
- Typically has 3-5 years’ relevant technical experience
