    SUMMARY:

    Universal Avionics, an industry leader in avionics systems technology, is looking for a Software Verification Engineer for our Northwest Engineering Division located in Redmond, WA. A successful candidate will support DO-178 software verification activities for various safety-critical avionics products. Join a highly engaged and collaborative team of various engineering disciplines that pioneer and maintain the Universal Avionics product lines.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support DO-178 software verification activities for various UA avionics products
    • Generate software verification procedures
    • Develop automated test scripts and method libraries
    • Perform software requirements-based testing
    • Perform test and structural code coverage analyses
    • Prepare and review software lifecycle data
    • Provide change impact analysis inputs
    • Author and investigate problem reports
    • Recommend verification process improvements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or Math discipline
    • 1 or more years of software testing experience
    • Experience or knowledge of software testing methodologies, test coverage analysis, structural code coverage analysis, automated testing and script development, software lifecycle documentation, and the use of test and simulation equipment
    • Team player with professional attitude capable of performing in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Familiarity with flight deck avionics, navigation, communication, and flight management systems
    • Familiarity with object oriented programming, C++, C#/.NET, and XML/XSL
    • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks

    KEY ACTIVITIES

    • Provide leadership on large projects spanning onsite and remote business and technical teams.
    • Analyze existing systems, develop artifacts, and establish, implement and maintain specific systems, while monitoring and supervising systems performance.
    • Analyze requirements for feasibility and users’ needs and design, develop, debug and unit test using MSF technologies for commercial business applications.
    • Prepare business documentation and conduct user training.
    • Custom design specific programs for enterprise and user needs, to support business processes, provide specific technical awareness, insight and documentation as appropriate to departments and users.
    • Perform extensive functional testing of modules post-customization.
    • Ensure that systems continue to function normally through maintenance and testing, execute production failure trouble shooting.
    • Work with other solution design engineers, architects and other cross functional IT professionals to design tools and enhancements and write code to fulfill enterprise objectives and needs
    • Liaise with business /stakeholders on project status, proposals and technical issues.
    • Design and develop solutions/models as applicable, using scientific analysis and mathematical techniques to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
    • Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
    • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of capabilities and requirements, generate useful and actionable business insights.
