Job Description
The Supply Chain Risk Management Program Manager is responsible for orchestrating the sensing, triage, communication, and mitigation of supply chain risk events that could impact Western Digital’s operations. This includes developing and implementing strategies, procedures, and policies to improve the resiliency of the supply base while leading cross‑functional teams to execute mitigation actions during disruption events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This job is responsible for delivering the organization outcome as stated:
Risk Sensing: Establish systems to monitor potential global events that could impact the supply chain and quickly determine the likelihood of impact.
Risk Triage: Utilize internal and external systems and coordinate with supply chain teams and key suppliers to assess potential severity and impact on revenue and operations.
Communication and Mitigation: Lead development of impact assessments and regular communications to senior management on status. Coordinate cross‑functional “War Rooms” to determine and execute mitigation strategies.
Governance: Implement systems and defined roles to manage end‑to‑end issue‑resolution processes following Best‑in‑Class standards.
Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and report risk‑management performance metrics. Conduct in‑depth analysis to provide insights and recommendations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with procurement, operations, legal, finance, IT, and suppliers. Train stakeholders on risk‑management practices.
Training and Development: Develop and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and policies. Provide education and training.
Technology Integration: Evaluate and implement technology solutions supporting risk management and analytics.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Proven track record in finance, procurement, supply chain, or operations within large, global organizations.
Experience with procurement and risk‑management processes.
Other Requirements:
Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
Office‑based role with some travel.
Ability to work flexible hours to support global teams.
