Following two recent acquisitions, the company is transforming its medical device business from being a provider of coating technologies, to offering whole-product solutions. Throughout its transformation, Surmodics mission remains: to improve the detection and treatment of disease by using our technology to provide solutions to difficult medical device and diagnostic challenges. The Process Engineering Intern works closely with engineers, scientists, and technicians to complete equipment qualifications and document updates to support manufacturing and space renovation efforts. Prepares and executes protocols and files reports. Works within the timeline of the overall manufacturing equipment move efforts. Responsibilities Prepares and conducts experiments or qualifications to support manufacturing initiatives (80%) * Prepares protocols and conducts experiments under close guidance of senior staff * Performs data analysis and presentation * Assists in planning Communicates results, progress, and issues to the manufacturing team and supervisor (20%) * Presents status updates and issues * Maintains thorough and up-to-date records * Prepares written reports Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications * Current student pursuing a B.S. degree in an engineering or applied science field from an accredited school * Enrolled as a student in Fall Semester of 2018. * Minimum two years completed toward BS degree * Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
