Following two recent acquisitions, the company is transforming its medical device business from being a provider of coating technologies, to offering whole-product solutions. Throughout its transformation, Surmodics mission remains: to improve the detection and treatment of disease by using our technology to provide solutions to difficult medical device and diagnostic challenges. The Information Systems Intern works closely with engineers, scientists, and technicians to complete equipment qualifications and document updates to support manufacturing and space renovation efforts. Prepares and executes protocols and files reports. Works within the timeline of the overall manufacturing equipment move efforts. Responsibilities The IS department has identified multiple day-to-day operational tasks that would be an excellent opportunity for an intern to obtain workplace experience. These tasks may include the following: * Preparing new computers (imaging) and decommissioning old computers (wiping). * IS weekly purchasing activities. * IS internal documentation and diagrams (discovery, auditing). * Some general IS helpdesk tickets (problem troubleshooting, software installs, data archiving, closing accounts). * Uploading new and removing old content from our Internal Intranet portal (content maintenance). * Application development project activities (project management, testing, training, and documentation.)
