Technical Expert 3 About This Job Syngenta Crop Protection, LLC seeks
a Technical Expert 3 for our Greensboro, North Carolina location to be
responsible for conducting quantitative environmental exposure modeling
and risk assessments for agrochemicals and crop protection products in
North America. Provide technical advice to support new and existing
registrations of Syngenta products and work closely with regional and
global regulatory and product safety teams and other functional teams to
produce risk assessments for regulatory submission, and to develop and
optimize technical and scientific capabilities. Specific duties include:
- participate in and interact with the global Environmental Safety
team; 2) support the development of methodologies, data, and studies
specific to Syngenta products; 3) provide recommendations for
environmental exposure and risk determination and mitigation; and 4)
represent the company through participation in professional
organizations and workshops, industry-wide task forces, and at meetings
with regulatory agencies. Occasional domestic/international travel is
required 15% of the time for meetings with regulatory authorities and
field study visits. Requires a PhD degree or equivalent in Chemical
Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a
related field. Requires two (2) years of related experience. Requires
one (1) year of experience with each of the following: (1) Conducting
environmental exposure modelling and risk assessments for agricultural
products; higher-tiered volatilization model development; particulate
matter transport modelling. Long range transport, dispersion, and
deposition of air pollutants; (2) Creating and managing databases to
handle geo-spatial, remotely sensed air quality data. Develop
algorithms/codes to extract, process, and predict ground level air
pollutants; (3) Applying remote sensing and geographic information
system (GIS) spatial analysis and statistical tools including ArcGIS,
ENVI, AERSCREEN,Minitab, and R; (4) Drafting research articles,
proposals, and technical reports; (5) Developing protocols for field
studies to sample both gaseous and particle bound emissions; (6)
Developing research proposals for field volatility studies campaign; and
(7) Publishing peer-reviewed journal articles on air contaminant global
and regional transport, transformation, dispersion, and deposition.
