We are seeking internship candidates to join our Advanced Systems engineering teams at our location in Syracuse, New York. Selected students will get exposure to:

• State-of-the-art labs are testing multiple revolutionary projects.
• Ability to work side-by-side with subject-matter experts and be involved in project teams.
• Professional training and development opportunities.

EDUCATION:

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering (Sophomore or Higher Preferred), or a graduate student pursuing a Masters' or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study .
• GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA
• Relevant coursework or previous internships/co-op preferred
• Preference is being given to the candidates from Syracuse University. This internship is a partnership between Syracuse University and their career center.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with the fundamentals of the design of thermal systems.
• Exposure to the modeling and simulation of HVAC&R systems at the component or system level through a combination of internally developed and/or commercial codes.
• Support the commissioning and performance testing of HVAC&R systems in a psychometric chamber.

REQUIREMENTS:

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• COVID-19 vaccines will be required for all newly hired Carrier U.S. Salaried employees
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Familiarity with design, modeling, and testing thermal systems is a plus.
• Solid grasp of engineering fundamentals
• Ability to work independently on the assigned task
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Eagerness to learn and develop under the guidance of experienced engineers
• Entry-level competency with engineering development tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, EES, FEA, CFD, or Pro-E is highly desirable.
