OBJECTIVES: -The intern will gain insight in how drug discovery works, within Takedas DMPK Department. The focus of the internship will be centered around bioanalysis of drugs in various matrixes, operating and troubleshooting instruments, and presenting your work to a scientific group. ACCOUNTABILITIES: -Extraction of biological matrices following analytical procedures and SOPs -Determination of drug concentration levels -Watson LIMS study set up -Processing of mass spectrometric results -LC instrumentation use and trouble shooting -Mass spec tuning, method development, maintenance and trouble shooting EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: -An undergraduate student with a major in chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering -Must have completed general chemistry with lab and organic chemistry with lab courses -Work related mechanical experience is preferred but not required. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: -Not apply PHYSICAL DEMANDS: -Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.). TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: -Requires no travel.
