POSITION OBJECTIVES: Takeda's summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities. The goal of this internship is to provide insights into corporate communications through a variety of activities under the supervision of the Global Oncology and Takeda Boston communications managers. At the completion of the internship, the intern should have a thorough understanding of the key elements necessary for a communications program in the pharmaceutical industry. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Manage the project development/execution and create communications content to support Takeda Boston Community Service Day * Develop media materials and content to support external and internal communication plans for upcoming corporate and compound/product news announcements * Conduct research and present recommendations to support a communications plan for an upcoming patient advocacy awareness campaign * Create compelling content for a new weekly internal portal (intranet) article series * Experience in each of the following MS Office applications: * MS Outlook - Proficient * MS Word - Proficient * MS Excel - Proficient * MS PowerPoint - Proficient * Superior written and verbal communications skills * Exceptional organizational and project management skills * Experience with social media * Demonstrated success at working under deadlines within tight time frames possess a sense of urgency * Ability to multi-task and thrive in challenging situations * Use creativity to solve problems * Excellent people skills, patience and a sense of humor EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: * Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited university for the semester before and immediately following the internship. * Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelors degree and have completed at least their sophomore year or be a graduate level student pursuing either a PharmD or Masters degree * For Bachelors and Masters degree students, a major in a healthcare, pharmacy or life science field is preferred.
