    JOB SUMMARY

    Set-up and operate one or more cutting machines such ECC (Electrocut), Abrasive Cutoff, TAK, and Air Shear. Cut parts to blueprint specifications, following tooling instructions and standard charts while applying knowledge of cutting procedures. Operate other equipment and perform any other functions within the QWT Business Cell that may be necessary. Technician level I/II will be based upon proven expertise cutting in spec parts across the various machines and the skill level within the operation of each machine. The degree of difficulty of cutting parts successfully-- coated parts versus uncoated or small diameter parts and tolerance ranges is also a factor. Knowledge of other QWT Ops will also be considered.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Fully participate as a Team Member of the QWT Business segment supporting personal and team member growth along with the needs of the Franklin Site

    • Set-up and run machines, achieving print specifications including quality and throughput.
    • Implement continuous improvement activities.
    • Train other team members
    • Perform JobBOSS transactions.
    • Perform required daily maintenance to equipment and tools.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Work from established procedures and prescribed operation sequences to achieve parts per print and quality specifications.
    • Read blueprint and job order for product specifications and tooling instructions, like dimensions, tolerances, speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and cutting blades to be used.
    • Load fixtures as required.
    • Start machine and observe operation.
    • Verify dimensions of ground workpiece for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and pre-set gauges.
    • May change worn blades.
    • Feed machine by hand or set up automatic work-feeding device.
    • Communicate with co-workers, members of other shifts, technical leader, team leader and/or supervisor to transfer and receive instructions and information as well as coordinate activities regarding the status of the operation of particular jobs.
    • Perform 1st piece and In-process inspections for self or peers.
    • Simultaneous to cutting operation, perform a variety of secondary operations as required.
    • Follow written and verbal instructions to maintain high standard of quality.
    • Expected to maintain specifications as defined on drawing and/or routing.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in a small device manufacturing environment is required. Experience in medical device manufacturing, aerospace, machinery, or metals. Ability to read specifications/operational notes and quality plans and have very strong oral and written communication skills, be able to follow written and verbal instructions and be capable of meeting assigned deadlines. Good manual dexterity and ability to use measurement and inspection tools like micrometers, microscope, etc.

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    Experience in medical device manufacturing (ISO 13485), aerospace, machinery, or metals desired. Ability to read blue prints and drawings.

    SALARY INFO:

    $16 - $18 / HR
