The Clean Air Manufacturing Engineering Intern rolesupports manufacturing engineering and provides hands on practical experience and exposure to continuous improvement tools and processes. Additionally, the Clean Air Manufacturing Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to interact with engineers, engineering and manufacturing leaders, project leaders, technicians, and cross-functional project stakeholders on a daily basis. As a Clean Air Manufacturing Engineering Intern YOU will: Be assigned a Mentor to guide, support and coach you throughout your internship experience at Tenneco. Receive relevant field experience in the area of manufacturing engineering. Be given project assignments aimed at improving shop floor processes. The projects will involve assessing tool design and condition, reviewing best practices, and implementing robust solutions to manufacturing problems. Required Skills Must be able to work in a Team based environment. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Effective time management skills. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Required Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Student currently enrolled and pursuing an engineering degree (Associate or Bachelors) at an accredited institution. Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher. Student who resides within a commutable distance of the job site (Kansas City, Missouri). Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site (Kansas City, Missouri). Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Student pursuing an undergraduate engineering degree focused on the following engineering majors: automotive, automotive technology, industrial and manufacturing systems, manufacturing, manufacturing technology, materials / metallurgical, mechanical, mechanical technology, mechatronics, robotics, technology or welding. Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Student with experience with design / tools.
