ID: -67755 -Office Location: -NA-US-CA-Fremont-Factory -Job Shift: -Job Type: -Intern -Description -The Role Our Supply Chain Department is deeply engrained in the functional areas of the business and partners heavily with the leadership team on critical decisions. Team members are expected not only to have the skills to analyze data and surface takeaways/recommendations but must also lead cross-functional decision-making processes and communicate recommendations to leaders at all levels in the company. Through the intern program, we are looking to find the next wave of talent to drive these efforts. Tesla Motors Supply Chain team is comprised of several subgroups: Global Supply Purchasing, Supplier Industrialization, Logistics Management, Packaging, Trade & Compliance, Supply Chain Automation and Materials Planning. Interns will be assigned to one of our six sub-groups, based on prior experience, interests, and educational background. Specific project assignments and required technical aptitude will vary based on the needs of the individual hiring team Team Overview and Responsibilities: Global Supply Purchasing: Is responsible for sourcing, issuing and evaluating RFQs, resolving commercial issues and complex negotiations, developing commodity strategies and overall supplier management. This team interfaces with Supplier Industrialization, Engineering, Product Excellence, Service and Manufacturing on various projects, including cost reduction and product launch. Logistics Management: Is responsible for the inbound and outbound transportation management, fleet management, materials handling, order fulfillment, logistics network design, and management of third party logistics services providers. Global Trade & Compliance: Is responsible in maintaining a high level of compliance with import, customs and export rules and regulations while minimizing costs and complexity within Teslas overall supply chain. Material Planning: Is making sure that all parts and materials needed in production arrive at the factory at the right time. Material Plannings objective is to prevent line downs while keeping inventory levels at a minimum. Planners translate production demand into orders to suppliers, monitor supplier execution, and find solutions for shortage risks Required Skills and Qualifications -Currently working towards a bachelor, masters degree, or MBA. Areas of study in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration. -3+ internship, project, or work experience related to this area of expertise. -Ability to effectively communicate verbally and excellent time management skills. -Ability to relocate for the duration of your internship.
