Provide Factory test support at startup and as needed daily for the entire factory to ensure test equipment is working properly and does not cause lost starts. This role leads Test Systems for 2nd shift operations. POSITION Test Engineer (2nd Shift) LOCATION USA, Louisville, KY HOW YOU'LL CREATE POSSIBILITIES

    • Track overall test system performance on 2nd shift by measuring No Fault Found, Yield, test Cycle time for all testers.
    • Analyze 2nd shift test failures and work with PIE's and area repair operators to determine if the root cause of the failure is due to a part assembly issue, design, or test method, then own overseeing the corrective actions. Communicate test changes with 2nd shift team. Solicit input for project ideas and issue resolutions. Communicate with Lead Test Engineer.
    • Work closely with Process Engineers and Maintenance personnel for repairs and improvements involving any quality test equipment or information equipment. Advise EHS of any safety and/or ergonomic implications related to product testing.
    • Ensure PM processes are being followed including proper documentation and that all test equipment parts are available.
    • QIE for Final Assembly:
    • Maintain, analyze and correct issues Final Functional & WIFI test equipment (Leak/Flow transducers), hose connections, electrical connectors.
    • Maintain, analyze and correct issues with hermetically sealed system restriction, reverse valve test equipment.
    • Maintain, analyze and correct issues with Delta T & Model Marry testers.
    • Troubleshoot complex electronic controlled equipment.
    • Maintain ESD equipment & Calibration.
    • Provide technical leadership and advice for the shop and plant management pertaining to testing and test equipment for product acceptance.
    • Own all aspects of the Final Assembly testers including data analysis to drive yield, COQ and scrap metrics . Ensure MCI is followed on 3rd shift and audit the test process & the pass/fail limits. Drive immediate actions/projects to improve metrics .
    • Own calibration and PM for all test equipment and gages . Conduct Gage R&R's as needed .
    • Analyze SPC for key metrics per the MCP. Monitor data trends and identify root cause if out of control and lead corrective actions.
    • Communicate hand-off between shifts ensuring seamless transition & status of projects.

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO OUR TEAM MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS Engineering degree or equivalent electrical experience
    • 3 years’ experience in troubleshooting and supporting manufacturing test equipment
    • Prior experience in a union environment
    • Quality leadership experience
    • Proven ability to influence and drive change
    • Solid verbal/written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills
    • High initiative, self-starter, proactive, dedicated, results oriented, a team player

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS Electrical Engineering degree
    • Electrical System Testing
    • Program C++
    • Leak and Flow Testing/Analysis
    • Low Voltage Start
    • Motor/Compressor Overload
    • Safety: Ground Bond Continuity
    • Safety: High Voltage Withstand
    • Knowledge of Appliances manufacturing processes and/or similar high volume assembly processes
    • Experience & training in lean manufacturing practices
    • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
    • Thermodynamics Refrigeration cycle
    • Noise Vibration Harshness Testing/analysis
    • Product Reliability Testing
    • Strong project management and analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate/implement solutions

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
