Test and Measurement Software Engineer

What You’ll Do:

Test and Measurement provides the capability to test products at system, sub system, module, and component level, collecting and validating data to support the verification of product designs (SPTE - Special to Project Test Equipment). The Electrical Test Equipment group is responsible for bringing new test capability to Rolls-Royce through Capital projects. The group is also responsible for maintaining reliable test equipment that Rolls-Royce depends on to pass certification and development testing and for the design and maintenance of engine assembly tooling.

The prospective engineer will be exposed to a varied field of engineering disciplines. The candidate will be expected to develop and troubleshoot stand control and data acquisition systems. The work is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The candidate's work will be rapidly realized and put into use at a fast pace.

Key Accountabilities:

• Supporting and troubleshooting test stand issues
• Applying technical principles, theories, and concepts to develop solutions to complex problems
• Maintaining and developing in-house developed Universal Monitor and Control System (UMACS) and in-house developed data acquisition system
• Interfacing UMACS to external devices such as an in-house developed data system and Allen-Bradley PLC’s
• Helping develop a next generation UMACS, and helping with data system development
• Representing the company to external stakeholders as the authority of their test programs
• Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment

Preferred Requirements:

• C++ Programming
• Control Theory Coursework
• Some Test Experience

Relevant Majors:

• BS Electrical and Computer Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Aero Engineering
• Other engineering majors considered if candidate has software experience.

Standing/Graduation Eligibility: Bachelors Required at a minimum. Graduating between May 2023 and August 2024

Minimum GPA: 3.0
