Lake County Information Technology is seeking an experienced Sr. Network Systems Engineer to join the Service Delivery Team.

The Sr. Network Systems Engineer is responsible for daily operations, cloud administration, upgrades, patching, incidents and projects. This role is capable of troubleshooting and resolving the most difficult and complicated issues as well as monitors and maintains our various IT infrastructure and systems.

• Perform maintenance to keep hardware & software to current standards.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues
• Administer Office 365 and supporting SaaS solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
• Perform analysis within trouble ticket to determine root cause.
• Work with team to ensure maximum availability of all systems.
• Research solutions to new problems and better solutions to existing problems.
• Manage hypervisor cluster hosts and virtual machines both on premise and cloud
• Manage Cisco NextGen firewalls.
• Assist with Microsoft SCCM / Azure Intune support
• Develop technical documentation and cross-train team members.
• Collaborate with other team members on projects.
• Support backup environment and resolves issues
• Stays current with new and emerging technologies

Work is performed in a customer service unit where teamwork and customer relations are paramount, creating a positive customer support experience and building strong relationships within the various departments of the County as well as within the Service Delivery team.

DESIRED SKILLS

To be successful in this position, the candidate must demonstrate advanced knowledge of servers/storage both in cloud (Azure, AWS, Oracle) and on premise. Cloud migration and management experience is required. Candidate should have a strong understanding of ITIL Framework and will have a proven track record of assisting users using all available resources including researching, troubleshooting and documenting all steps taken to either resolve or escalate the issue.

Exceptional customer service skills and professional demeanor are a must. Candidate must be energetic, responsible, self-motivated and able to work in a Team environment under minimal supervision with a focus on the customer experience.

• Windows Server (all versions) – management both cloud and on-premise
• Active Directory and group policy management
• NTFS Permissions
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting
• Backup recovery and restore
• Office 365 Administration
• Enterprise Administrative Skills (DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, MFA)
• SAN Knowledge and clustering
• Citrix Netscaler and virtual desktops
• Administration of Azure environment
• Microsoft SCCM & Intune
• Certificate administration

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

We are looking for an individual who has 5-7 years’ progressive IT experience including a minimum of three years supporting/designing complex infrastructure both on premise and cloud. Ability to constantly adapt, learn and support new technologies.
