Position Description: - Perform modification, alterations, rework and repair on field & hanger located airplanes involving mechanical, structural, hydraulic and plumbing work. Duties and Responsibilities: - Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures. - Perform complete operational test of mechanical and plumbing systems, diagnose malfunctions of systems and take necessary corrective action after modification is accomplished. - Use prints and specifications to make primary layouts, locate station lines, index points and establish exact locations of installations and/or component parts. - Use technical specifications, sketches, manuals, drawings, engineering instructions and publications to accomplish work assignment. - Maintain a clean and organized work environment in such a way as to promote safe, efficient operation. - Operate any and all types of information systems required to perform assigned tasks. Including but not limited to Company WEB based systems and Microsoft Office products. - Interpret and perform to the requirements of engineering drawings, service bulletins, service letters and other approved/accepted data. - Apply applicable mathematical calculations to setup and use precision measuring tools, to measure gaps, heights, angles, hole diameters and depths. - Make production aids to facilitate work assignment. - Maintain necessary certifications as required for assigned work. - As assigned, exchange information with suppliers, customers or other company representatives to explain or demonstrate operations, tests or difficulties. Physical requirements: Work demands moderate to strenuous effort, must be able to frequently lift items ranging from 20 to 50 pounds, must have the ability to stand for frequent periods of time, and must be able to perform tasks that require frequent climbing, crawling, kneeling, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing and other related activities. Required Skills and Experience: - Minimum three (3) years of experience working around live aircraft and flight operations. - Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting production illustrations, wiring diagrams, and or schematics. - Minimum one (1) year of experience in aircraft assembly. - Demonstrated experience in the area of Aircraft Functional Test. Preferred Skills and Experience: - Technical knowledge of aircraft maintenance services. - Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk experience with commercial and/or military aircraft. - Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office products. - Demonstrated knowledge and experience with aerospace modification. - Demonstrated experience in the area of Avionics or Aircraft Electrical Systems and/or rework and removal of large aircraft components.
