  • Responsibilities

    As the Director of Quality, you will provide inspirational leadership to the Quality Department, make work educational, build authentic learning communities, and proactively drive quality systems improvements. Lead the quality assurance/quality control function to ensure the highest level of product quality is maintained.  Participate in establishing, implementing and applying appropriate policies and procedures to insure controls are in place to comply with governmental and regulatory requirements.  Support organization by leading improvements which advance product reliability, process controls, and individual personal development.

    • Direct the Quality Systems, Production Quality, Warranty and Supplier Quality areas within the overall Quality Assurance Department.
    • Direct the maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, quality manuals and practices for the Beloit and Service Center locations
    • Direct and maintain the highest quality standards focused on continuous improvement of quality.
    • Maintain quality records for both internal and external use.
    • Coach and facilitate a company-wide culture of strong problem solving including error proofing, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
    • Drive change from quality through inspection to built in quality model
    • Direct and drive improved quality through a domestic and international supplier base.
    • Recommend new policies and procedures and ensure established policies and procedures are followed within the quality organization to provide appropriate controls are in place to meet governmental and regulatory requirements.
    • Establish and meet schedules within established budget and profit objectives in addition to planning and recommending capital expenditures.
    • Direct warranty, failure analysis and materials laboratory processes.

     

    Required Skills

    • Initiate improvements through lean manufacturing (TCV/EMLS) initiatives.
    • Maintain a high level of cooperation with labor union and insure labor contract is administered within established agreements.
    • Provide leadership and coaching for all quality team members including performance plans, one-on-ones, development plans, assessments and salary merit increases.
    • Allocate manpower resources to ensure operational goals can be attained

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of ten years relevant experience in Quality Management, Lead Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Program Management, and Systemic Change Management with a manufacturing company.
    • Consistent record of achieving continuous improvement in quality, non-conformance warranty issues, corrective action reduction delivery, safety, team building through hands-on and strategic leadership is required.
    • Proficiency in use of an ERP computer software package is preferred.
