Business Need / Purpose of Role Due to a promotion we have an opening for a Shared Services Specalist. Reports to the Shared Services Manager, the Shared Services Specialist is responsible for the accounts receivable cash posting and related journal entries in a Shared Services environment. Responsible for Vendor and Customer Master maintenance. The role will primarily be based in Madison, WI Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities Objectives:Cash posting and the reconciliation of cash accounts Responsible for Vendor and Customer Master maintenancPrepare journal entries for various general accounting requirements.Act as a business partner with various business functions.Coordinate various transactions with outside financial institutions (banks, etc.)Release of sales invoices Scanning documents as neededBack up VISA/MC Charge Card process for AR Customers.Sales tax maintenance as neededProcess employee expense reports on a weekly basisBack up the insurance liability paperwork processComplete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc. Complete special projects as assigned.Comply with all Finance Department and Company policies, procedures, and programs.Regular and reliable attendance is key to performance of this job.Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, and customer focused attitude within and between departments.Keep Shared Services Manager aware of pertinent issues and information warranting their knowledge, action and/or resolution. Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Mathematical:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills:Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business equipment and software, including email. Experience with mid-range ERP system knowledge (MAPICS on IBM AS/400) is preferred. Strong computer skills including use of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other software products as needed. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Requires a valid drivers license. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Basic knowledge and skills within, coaching, mentoring and disciplinary areas.
