This person will be responsible for successfully completing a six (6) month training program as part of the Operations Development Program (a.k.a. TOPS). The TOPS program is designed to provide a thorough knowledge of our products, standard business processes, technical aspects of elevators, and managerial skills to help develop professional individuals who can advance into leadership positions. The goal of the program is to prepare individuals to easily transition into a superintendent or project management position where they achieve operational goals and contribute to the overall success of a branch. The TOPS program will coach individuals to effectively manage our business, interact with internal and external customers, and build successful and profitable teams all within a safe environment. Program Requirements * Successfully complete the six (6) month training program * Available for relocation throughout the training program * Based on company needs, area relocation determined at the end of the program with expenses paid * Ability to carry at least 40 pounds * Perform the duties of an union elevator constructors apprentice for a portion of this program * Ability to learn and demonstrate that learning in a fast paced environment * Progression through performance TOPS Training Program The six (6) month training program consists of two (2) phases including: Phase I Field Training * Gain an understanding of the companys safety culture and policies by participating in the orientation class and safety training * Work in the field as a mechanics assistant to gain hands-on experience in the installation, modernization, repair and servicing of elevator equipment. This includes gaining a deeper understanding of the companys products and services (working in an industrial environment, ability to carry at least 40 pounds or thyssenkrupp Elevator required weight) * Complete training modules involving a number of field work aspects, standard business processes, and safety topics * Develop and deliver presentations as well as written and oral assessments based on this field training * Complete multiple learning assessments Phase II Operations Training * Participate in a number of activities associated with elevator operations, including but not limited to field safety; tools and resources; accident reporting; understanding customer relationships; contract review; time and expense processing; review of financials; time management; competitor analysis; and the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) contract * New installation operations * Modernization operations * Shadow operations superintendents in all lines of business to gain an understanding of field operations work * Complete online training modules and attend training events to gain a better understanding of the company and its products and services * Participate in project management to learn the standard business processes and systems involved with operations * Gain a strong understanding of thyssenkrupp Elevator, its mission and objectives, customer focus, safety, ethical standards, and compliance Your profile Education and Experience * 2 + years of experience in the construction, mechanical/HVAC service or related industry with supervisory or management experience highly preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience * Strong analytical skills and process orientation * Previous experience reading mechanical/technical diagrams
