What you will do: The Financial Analyst (Sales Support) is a key member of the Finance Team and must handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with some direct interaction with Senior Management. This role will partner with the Sales analysis team to assess the financial impact of key business decisions and alternatives. This will be done via developing a variety of analytical models to create significant insight into the strategic and tactical opportunities and challenges, aimed at improving and optimizing sales volume and trade spending. Heres a day in the life: The Financial Analyst (Sales Support) is responsible for profitability and strategic opportunity analysis which includes but not limited to: FINANCE SUPPORT: Monthly results analysis and commentary for management and board reporting Company level forecast analysis on key revenue reduction areas (Trade Spending, Slotting, Allowances, etc) Annual budget process support for Trade Spending and Channel / Customer mix impacts Key Sales Support role Perform analysis on forecasted volume and trade spending to determine impact from Channel / Customer mix on financial forecast and key trade spending metrics Support completion of post promotional analysis on trade promotions to develop recommendations for optimizing base and promotional pricing to maximize net sales and margin. Update and deliver customer and channel level profitability analysis with view into product segment Support build and update on monthly pricing models Support Customer Development Team with adhoc analysis BRANDED SALES SUPPORT: Support volume and trade spending forecast Analysis of impacts related to Channel / Customer mix and Product Category / Segment mix Strategy and opportunity analysis support Channel based pricing models Reporting including post promotional analysis and reporting optimization Profitability analysis at Customer / Channel level NONBRANDED SALES SUPPORT: Monthly and mid-month reporting on volume Monthly gross margin analysis (category / product / customer) Strategy and budgeting support Customer meeting support through analysis and insights Adhoc analysis projects This role will work closely with the Director of FP&A, Manager of FP&A and the Sales analysis team to develop a portfolio of analysis to assist with decision making and financial analysis of monthly and annual results. Skills youll need: Education: A bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis on accounting/finance is required; an MBA is a plus Experience : 3 - 5 years of experience in profitability, trade and pricing analysis is required. 3-5 years of Consumer Packaged Goods experience is preferred; Experience working with and evaluating IRI data or Nielsen data analysis is a plus. ERP and systems experience is required. Utilizes a computer with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint and Outlook.
