THIS POSITION IS FOR MANN PACKING (A DEL MONTE COMPANY)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The supply planning specialist will be responsible for building up a SKU driven production schedule to fulfill customers demand, minimize finished good dumps, and optimize the cost of production for multiple facilities. The supply planning specialists will also be required to manage UPM standards, build & maintain operational metrics, and work cross functionally with all key stakeholders in operations and sales.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for Capacity modeling & driving line sequencing efficiencies while showing metrics to track it.
• Must have excellent excel skills.
• Interact/Partner with production to maximize labor savings.
• Assess and report order fill rate by finished good item and develop proactive measures to improve fill rate to meet Mann Packing’s goals.
• Provide sales with same day shortages by item with ETA’s for multiple facilities.
• Track root causes of reason for finished goods stock outs.
• Minimize scheduling changes to maximize production efficiencies.
• Work with raw procurement on raw product availability vs actual preliminary/startup schedules for the next day to minimize product stock outs. Be able to mitigate through raw constraints by holding minimum FG safety stock levels without effecting customer service.
• Monitor and track made to order & made to stock finished items in food bank, product aging, & same day shortages.
• Manage and update UPM standards by SKU.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 3-5 years experience working as a planner/scheduler. 
• Team Oriented
• Bilingual required
• College Education
• High level computer skills – Microsoft office
• Good verbal/ written communication skills
• Able to work under stress and tight deadlines
• Familiarity with JD Edwards

Required Skills Required Experience

General knowledge of the more complex bindery machines (i.e. fully automatic binding machines (perfect binders), multiple station collators and multiple folding units, either individually or combined) to perform the full range of standard and specialized folds of printed materials.  Thorough knowledge of the set up, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities and limitations of one or more bindery machines to perform the full range of standard and specialized folding, collating and cutting of printed materials to complete a combined finishing product.  Ability to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containing bindery requirements which indicate the number and sequence of machine operations required to complete the work and to maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance with instructions provided; independently makes decisions on the type of equipment to be used.  Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated types of paper stock.  Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and to refine such adjustments for the weight, color, machinability and quality of paper stock being used and to prevent machining impressions on the printed materials.  Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines.  Skill in using the full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of the bindery machines.
