    MISSION / SUMMARY:

    Senior Instructional Designer will support excellence by using adult learning theory, assessment and game theory as it applies to learning.  This role will create and manage online technology-based academic and live classroom content development in all modalities. 

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

    • Design, develop and implement learning solutions and Talent Management collateral to support organizational goals
    • Deliver effective interactive training sessions and materials that facilitate application of knowledge and learning
    • Provide direction and leadership in concept development through analyzing needs, tasks and the learning environments
    • Partner with business leaders to gather knowledge of work situations which require training to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies
    • Develop training using multimedia visual aids, web-based training, and reference work
    • Evaluating training courses biannually to ensure program quality and company standards
    • Develop course outlines, documentation, assessment strategies and maintain instructional design direction and development though all phases
    • Identify resource needs (budget, vendors, contractors) necessary to efficiently meet instructional design objectives
    • Update and maintain existing learning materials and systems as necessary
    • Update collateral/ materials (printed, presentations, online) based on required organizational template changes
    • Devise modes of assessment, such as test or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of a course
    • Analyze and provide trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
    • Update and enhance existing programs and necessary to meet the changing needs of the business by implementing new and innovative delivery methods
    • Participate in meetings, seminars and training sessions to obtain new information to be integrated into training materials

     

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • 5 years’ experience developing and creating content.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Experience teaching or facilitating one-on-one or in a group setting.
    • Experience using technologies to design student-centered learning materials in a digital learning as well as a classroom environment.
    • Experience with educational technologies such as: Adobe Creative Cloud, Canvas, Articulate Storyline and Camtasia or similar technologies.
    • Evidence of excellence in course design.
    • Planning and organizational skills combined with a proven ability to lead others towards timely completion of projects.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Evidence of the ability to design assessment tools that promotes learning.

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology or related field or equivalent experience
    • 5 years of experience developing instructional or training materials
    • Experience with learning management systems is required
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus
    • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects while working well under pressure
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • 2 years of experience facilitating training
    • Evidence of successful deployment of effective video and graphic technologies in a learning environment.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
    • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
    • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

  • Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Successful completion of a state approved training program resulting in technician status and completion of state-defined competency and skills testing.
    • Currently listed in good standing on the State of Missouri registry.
    • Ability to read and complete necessary documentation legibly, in accordance with regulations.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience.
    • Current CPR Certification.
