    Facilitates the Emergency Department operations by being responsible for the equipment, supplies, establishing par levels, and departmental safety checks. Assist ED leadership in budget variance analysis and capital requisition process. Assist as an educator in hospital wide orientation (violence in the workplace, decon, and sled-bed) and unit specific ED tech competencies. During surge assists as an ED tech in the provisions of timely and effective patient care. Helps maintain a safe and clean environment in order to enhance department operations. Assist in orientation, ongoing training, and annual evaluation of ED techs. This is an hourly position with direct supervision authority over ED techs.

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Knowledge of infection control
    • Able to work using aseptic techniques
    • Good Communication and team building skill set
    • Knowledge of equipment and supplies needed for emergency services

     

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of two (2) years ED tech experience.
    • EKG knowledge; able to set-up and run 12-lead EKG.
    • Current Basic Life Support Instructor Certification
    • Decon trainer (obtain within 3 months of hire)
    • Fit-Testing Super User
    • Non-violent crisis intervention instructor (obtain within 3 months of hire)
    • Basic Windows and Excel skills

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Previous lead ED tech experience
