Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in a technical field or training in a vocational school preferred.
- Basic machining experience preferred.
- Three (2) years’ experience in pattern making.
- Must demonstrate mastery of building offset parting boards and flasks, mounting and gating of working patterns, and conformance to patterns to specifications.

- Work activities required to perform this job include controlling machines and processes; getting information; making decisions and solving problems; drafting, laying out, and specifying technical devices, parts, and equipment; thinking creatively; communicating with supervisors and peers; updating and using relevant knowledge; identifying objects, actions, and events; monitor processes, materials, and surroundings; handling and moving objects; processing information; evaluating information to determine compliance with standards; inspecting equipment, structures, and materials; analyzing data or information; organizing, planning, and prioritizing work; and repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment.
- Physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling tools and materials.
- Must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats, as required.
