  • Responsibilities

    The Credit Analyst is accountable for managing our credit system, processes, and implementation of new strategies. Providing insightful and quantitative analysis/models to help with optimal commercial decision making and risk management leading to business growth, improvements and efficiencies.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Assist with modification to credit policy to ensure company is accepting credit risks which are within risk appetite
    • Work with key stakeholders such as sales, operations and commercial to understand impacts to business as credit strategy is adjusted and find the balance between risk taking and profitability
    • Analyze historical bad debt data along with other customer, product attributes to find areas of improvement, trends and develop proposals to improve the business
    • Own credit policy reviews that dictate our path forward to optimize profitability that considers numerous profit and loss variables
    • Preventing, reducing and managing credit losses when occurred
    • Consulting business and sales on developing business in markets/customers with high credit risk
    • Other task as assigned

    EDUCATION, LICENSING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    Required

    • Four year college or university degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent education

     

    EXPERIENCE

    Required

    • 5 + years of risk management, treasury, or credit experience is required
    • 5+ years of experience in analytical, credit underwriting or statistical modelling roles
    • Experienced in Power BI, SQL, MS Excel and data science platforms
    • Sense of urgency and proven capability to work within short deadlines

     

    COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

    Required

    • Ability to monitor numerous procedures and processes through KPIs to ensure company policy is followed
    • Develop empirically derived recommendations that are tracked and test against alternatives and benchmarks
    • Track record of planning, evaluating, implementing and continuously improving all aspects of credit functions and processes
    • Strong math and analytical skills
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
    • Good knowledge of Oracle finance system

  • Qualifications
    • Intermediate PC skills including proficient typing, mouse usage, and account navigation.
    • Efficient use of Microsoft Office software; Excel and Word specifically.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to read and interpret data in routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to handle difficult customer situations in a professional manner; strong customer service skills.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
