    OPS MAINT COORDINATOR II - PAPER

    MISSION / SUMMARY:

    The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) role is to provide leadership and support to operations area manager, Paper Mill Supervisors and operating crews to ensure continuity of pulp operations especially in regard to maintenance execution. The OMC is responsible for the maintenance activities required for maintaining and continuously improving process and equipment to ensure the reliability for the operations department. The OMC reports to the Paper Machine Superintendent.

    JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

    • Accountable for Safety
    • Maintains Housekeeping to a high standard
    • Coordinate shutdown lockout and tag out.
    • Coordinates and communicates the daily and weekly maintenance plan including the prep required for execution, including tasks such as housekeeping, process changes and ZES.
    • Supports area contractors with site specific reviews (insures they are completed via themselves or other resources)
    • Serve as project originator for maintenance capital in asset area; assist in writing project (AR) documentation
    • Develop and oversee longer term PM strategies such as PM timing, annual outage planning and equipment/clothing rotation.
    • Facilitate periodic review and prioritization of work order backlog
    • Screen daily and approve all work orders for asset area; assure quality of all work orders (coding accuracy, symptoms accurately described)
    • Generates notifications and maintains when down do planning as necessary to support the area
    • Function as the main liaison between paper operations and maintenance departments.
    • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and document all planned department shutdowns.
    • Manage and schedule preventative maintenance PMs
    • Be a steward of predictive and precision maintenance practices and programs
    • Improve communication between Production and Maintenance so that we are all working on the same goals through the Maintenance/Operation Planning and Scheduling (MOPS) process.
    • Schedule and conduct outage critique meetings; document, publish and post meeting notes
    • Ensure critiques are used to improve future outages
    • Eliminate non-value added activities (waste) from the department
    • Make decisions based on the best-cost alternative, using knowledge and understanding of department fixed and variable cost budgets.
    • Manage area annual repair budgets to target.
    • Assist area managers control maintenance and operational costs at or below budget, without sacrificing productivity or overall profitability of area.
    • Provides feedback and approval on work completion satisfaction
    • Works with maintenance supervisors to determine break-in work and overtime needs
    • Annual outage coordination
    • Achieve Price of Reliability (POR) goals
    • Assure that Business Unit KPI’s are supported in the MOPS process

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Previous Pulp and Paper Industry experience.

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
    • 3 – 5 years prior experience as a Supervisor from Operations or Maintenance preferred.

    • A qualified candidate will possess the skill set to fill in for the Assistant Superintendent as needed.

    SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

    • General schedule is an 8+-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.  Must be willing to work weekend duty for the overall Paper Mill area.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Frequent, bending, stooping, squatting, as well as frequent movement throughout the facility for extended periods of time up to 8+-hour
    • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
    • Use of various office, hand tools or electrical equipment
    • Employee is required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protecting when in the manufacturing area.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and times of increased heat and humidity.
    • The noise level in the immediate work environment is normally quiet, however requires exposure to a noisy manufacturing environment.

    Current Texas state registration

    Possession of ARRT in Radiology

    Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology with at least 1 year experience in diagnostic radiography and fluoroscopy

    Current BLS obtained through an approved American Heart Association provider
