    To accept the responsibilities for secretarial functions in Medical/Surgical Nursing Unit. These activities contribute significantly to the smooth running of the Medical-Surgical Nursing Unit.

     

    Required Skills

    • Basic computer and typing skills
    • Verbal and written communication
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Organizational skills
    • Telephone etiquette (able to handle busy phone - 4 phone lines)
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

    Required Experience

     

    REQUIRED:  

    • High school graduate or GED

     

    PREFERRED:

     

    • Completion of a unit clerk or medical terminology course
    • At least one year of previous experience in a hospital environment.
