Specific responsibilities of this role include: -Most rotations/assignments are short duration such that they can be completed within the assigned intern/co-op period. During each rotation period, the incumbent will support unique departmental engineering assignments and responsibilities as required to support the overall manufacturing engineering/lean, quality assurance, and shop floor operations. -The specific projects and assignments vary depending on the department to which the intern/co-op is assigned. All assignments are intended to introduce and expose the incumbent to product transition from the initial design through the manufacturing process. Incumbent may have the opportunity to develop and implement systems that assure product quality. Incumbent will manage, create, and update manufacturing data, including routing, fixturing, and tooling, work with quality data collection and be responsible for ordering, receiving and installing critical hardware for production and quality assurance processes. -The engineering intern/co-op program is considered to be an on-the-job training position where individuals unfamiliar with aircraft wheels and brakes can learn the overall design, manufacture, test, and analysis process. Opportunities are also available for formal training in areas such as administrative skills, communication, safety, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and technical skills. Education and Certifications: Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Materials or Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution. Experience and Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: -Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Materials or Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution. -Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher -Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework Preferred Qualifications: -Good oral and written communication skills -Solid problem solving skills -Solid analytical problem solving skills are extremely valuable -Experience with Microsoft Office products is very useful.
