    Intern Military Engines Support Equipment Engineering & XPO Processing - Businesses PRATT & WHITNEY Job ID 66063BR Date posted 05/10/2018 City East Hartford State Connecticut Country US This position is for an intern in Military Engines Support Equipment (SE). During the Quality inspection process, engineering support and coordination is required on newly delivered SE from the manufacturing supply base. This activity occurs prior to customer delivery in the operational military environment. This internship position is within Pratt & Whitneys military engine sustainment organization based in East Hartford, CT. The engineering intern will support F135 and F100 Engine SE in support of our global war fighter customer base. Specific engine program placement will be assigned according to business need. The intern will be mentored by a senior engineer and assist by providing support for the following activities: Manufacturing blueprint interpretation Coordination with engine fleet management programs Technical support of suppliers manufacturing F135 and F100 SE Product team technical presentations and cross organization communication Development and creation of standard work for various processes/procedures Develop databases and process matrices Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvement. Qualification: Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering, GPA of 3.0 or higher. A working-knowledge of gas turbine engine operating theory, value stream mapping, standard operating procedures, root-cause analysis, mistake-proofing is desired. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, time management skills and the ability to work well with multi-disciplinary groups is required.
