Our UX Intern will be responsible for aiding and supporting our User Experience team with UX design, UI visual graphic design, wireframing, prototyping, and user research. The UX Intern will work closely with UX Designers, Researchers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to produce design assets and assist with research activities leading to the development and delivery of enterprise applications and mobile app software.
To be successful in this role you must display a genuine interest in the UX discipline, designing interactions, and conducting user research. You should be naturally inquisitive and comfortable working with people as part of a larger team. You must possess strong written and verbal skills to assist in delivering research findings through written, oral, and visual presentation methods.
We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for the summer of 2023. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience, and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy.
As a User Experience Design and Research Intern, you will gain experience including, but not limited to duties and tasks listed below .
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Conduct user research, evaluate user feedback, and present research findings
Gather and evaluate UI/UX/Research requirements
Demonstrate interaction and design ideas using storyboards, user flows, and prototypes
Create original graphic designs (e.g., images, icons, and other graphics)
Artistic eye for design and ability to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Collaboration is key. Must have an inquisitive and open nature to contribute to discussions and foster a collaborative approach to research and information gathering
A true desire to learn new things, be engaged, and want to make a difference every day
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Experience using design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, Sketch, or similar tools.
Familiar with UX research methods and tools
Working knowledge of CSS and JavaScript is a plus
Engaged team player; strong communication and listening skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and teams
Strong problem-solving and innovative thinking
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Self-driven and proactive
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects

EDUCATION
Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, majoring in Human Factors (HCI), Interaction Design, or related field of study
GPA must be greater than or equal to a 3.0 GPA
Relevant coursework or previous internships preferred
