Det-Tronics is looking for an Engineering Intern for the summer of 2018. This internship will be in the Research and Engineering Department of Detector Electronics Corporation, part of Fire Security Products at United Technologies Corporation. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Part of a multi-discipline Integrated Product Team [PT] to test and verify new product platforms for reliability, quality and approval requirements of third party agencies. - Assist in research operating environments and functionality of sensors, their interactions with environmental factors, and develop accelerated test strategies which will provide faster pathways to product development and improved reliability - Assist in creating technical documents that will provide engineering requirements for new product design, including a high level sequence of operations forming the basis for manufacturing operation sheets. - Participate in the prototyping of new test fixtures and test software platforms as needed Qualification: - Candidate must be a US Citizen - Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited Engineering School with a minimum of two years completed in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering discipline - Experience in Python or Labview Programming is a plus Education: - Pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering OR Electrical Engineering or equivalent United Technologies Corporation is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
