    We are looking for a motivated Utility Technician to join our team in our Amherst, NY location. The Utility Technician is responsible for a wide range of operations in the plant and requires a broad knowledge base of both equipment and systems.

    Required Qualifications

    This position requires flexibility. Though this position will generally work Monday - Friday day shift, this individual must be able to work on any shift as assigned and overtime as may be required. Shifts and overtime are subject to change and based upon business conditions. Willingness to work overtime is required and at times on short notice.

    • HS Diploma/Equivalent is required
    • Basic computer skills required, such as ERP System (QAD), MS Word and Excel proficiency
    • Good communication skills exhibiting teamwork & the ability to interact with others
    • Basic math, reading, writing, and mechanical skills required
    • Previous forklift truck certification preferred
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse work environment is preferred

    Additional Description

    The role has significant involvement and ownership of the WetMix and Isopress processes. There is also the requirement for the Utility Technician to learn and support various other operations including powder room, acid treat, stabilizing, hi-fire, spray dry, and the continuous process. This role will also participate in equipment teardowns or rebuilds, material cycle counts, or assist in other production support functions. In addition to production processes, the Utility Technician, will support shipping, including loading and unloading trucks or package solids as needed.

    As a result, the Utility Technician will need to be flexible to adjust priorities as required. The ability and willingness to multi-task is advantageous to this position.

    As needed, this position will support training of a wide range of operations that they are deemed experts. This included onboarding of new operators on the wetmix process.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 60 pounds (with or without accommodations)
    • Ability to move throughout all areas of the plant floor, receiving, and outside perimeter of the facility including climbing stairs or working at heights
    • Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions
    • Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break
    • Visual acuity correctly to perform job functions

    • Ability to learn, and perform all duties required of the position
    • Ability to accurately and efficiently read, understand and execute all work orders
    • Ability to operate a fork truck
    • Ability to work unsupervised, efficiently, and safety

    • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality standards, and techniques for optimal manufacture and/or distribution of product
