& Disability Administration (LDA) team members and employees at all levels with leave of absence (LOA) requests to include Short-Term Disability, State Leave, FMLA, Long Term Leave, etc. Serves as liaison for the intake processing of LOA requests. * Completes intake for initial requests for all leaves (FMLA, STL, State Leaves, LTD, etc.) and determines eligibility for benefits. * Coordinates leaves of absence that run concurrently (FMLA, State Leave, Workers Comp, etc). * Updates and maintains employee leave status in benefits systems. * Monitors claim through full-duty return to work. * Prepares all leave correspondence (notification of leave requests and leave expiration, closure letters, requests for recovery of non-supported advanced benefits, etc.), notifies employee via mail/email, and places in HR files. * Runs time reports and monitors all leave quotas to ensure accurate payment and coding of benefits. * Notifies LDA management and appropriate departments when STL benefit pay is suspended or employee is overpaid. * Prepares and mails recovery notices for overpayment of STL benefits. * Reviews the Workers Compensation report for FMLA Industrial Injury claims and possible triage to LTD on a weekly basis. * Communicates with Corporate Benefits and Payroll Departments, refinery HR, medical personnel, and Legal Department as needed to effectively administer leave benefits. * Follows through timely on tasks. * Provides back-up to other Benefits Associate as requested. * Completes calculations of Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits according to Plans Provisions. This position is salaried nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay. * High school diploma or GED required. * Bachelors degree preferred. * 3+ years of general human resources experience required. * Experience in Leave of Absence Administration preferred. * Experience using SAP preferred.
