    Job Description

    We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Vice President of Marketing to lead all aspects of enterprise-focused B2B marketing, with direct accountability for Product Marketing, Analyst Relations (AR), branding, communications, integrated programs, advertising, social media, and creative development. This executive will manage a global team to drive impactful marketing programs that support business growth across enterprise segments.

    This role is pivotal in shaping our go-to-market strategy and brand narrative to meet the complex needs of enterprise buyers across OEM, VAR, and distribution channels. With a focus on strategic execution, new product introductions, and market opportunity capture, this leader will play a critical role in expanding our enterprise footprint and enabling sales success.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Enterprise B2B Marketing Strategy

    • Develop and lead the company’s enterprise-focused marketing strategy, aligned with sales, product, and corporate objectives.
    • Own the full marketing lifecycle for enterprise solutions—from market intelligence to demand generation and sales enablement.
    • Deepen brand positioning and differentiation in competitive B2B segments.

    Product Marketing

    • Lead the Product Marketing team to develop positioning, messaging, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategies for new and existing enterprise solutions.
    • Partner with Product Management and Sales to successfully launch products, support complex solution selling, and ensure alignment with customer needs.
    • Create compelling content and tools that empower the enterprise sales team and channel partners.

    Marcom & Brand

    • Define and execute the annual Marcom strategy to support the enterprise product roadmap and brand growth.
    • Oversee the creation of digital campaigns, high-impact marketing assets, and targeted thought leadership content.
    • Guide branding and design execution to ensure consistency across all touchpoints and reinforce brand equity in enterprise markets.

    Advertising & Communications

    • Manage an advertising budget to drive awareness and lead generation in targeted B2B markets.
    • Own enterprise PR and AR efforts, including contributed articles, executive speaking opportunities, and analyst briefings.
    • Drive digital and content strategies that align with the enterprise buyer journey.

    Cross-Functional Leadership

    • Lead a high-performing team of marketing professionals, including product marketers, project managers, designers, and content creators.
    • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Executive teams to align marketing strategies with go-to-market execution.
    • Foster a culture of clarity, accountability, trust, and innovation.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 15+ years of B2B marketing leadership experience, with a strong emphasis on enterprise markets, complex buyer journeys, and high-tech sectors.
    • Deep expertise in enterprise product marketing, GTM strategy, and demand generation across OEM, VAR, and distribution ecosystems.
    • Demonstrated success managing large budgets ($10M+) and scaling high-impact marketing teams (25+ people).
    • Proven ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies that drive pipeline and revenue.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and executive presence, with a track record of building collaborative cross-functional partnerships.
    • Strong business acumen and fluency in enterprise sales processes, buying dynamics, and solution positioning.

    Preferred Attributes

    • MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
    • Experience influencing analyst relations, public relations, and investor-facing communications.
    • Highly strategic but comfortable operating with a hands-on approach when needed.
    • Passion for storytelling, brand-building, and customer engagement in enterprise settings.

    Compensation & Benefits Details

    • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.

    • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.

    • If your position is non-exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. You may also be eligible for shift differential pay, depending on the shift to which you are assigned.

    • You will be eligible to be considered for bonuses under either Western Digital’s Short Term Incentive Plan (“STI Plan”) or the Sales Incentive Plan (“SIP”) which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance, depending on your role and your performance. You may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
