You will support multiple manufacturing equipment and be required to cross-train and work in other areas of the Fabrics manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will: * Be energized by cross-training and working in multiple manufacturing areas * Be passionate about manufacturing products that are the highest quality in their class * Be energized by working for a world-class manufacturer and collaborating on cross-functional teams * Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships Responsibilities include: * Learning, supporting, practicing the Gore culture * Following and advocating safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment * Setting up, operating, maintaining and troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment with a focus on producing quality product and achieving team production goals * Actively cross-training and supporting multiple manufacturing areas * Interacting and communicating with a cross-functional group, including shop associates, process engineers, and new-product-development associates * Inspecting, testing and troubleshooting product on and off line * Making product quality decisions * Understanding and applying the teams fundamental technology as it applies to manufacturing and testing * Performing computer data entry * Understanding and adhering to basic work instructions and procedures, while providing suggestions for improvement * Performing detailed and accurate record keeping * Keeping manufacturing equipment and work area clean Required Job Qualifications: * Previous experience operating complex manufacturing equipment * Experience in prioritizing and performing multiple tasks * Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including experience performing preventative maintenance on complex equipment * Demonstrated ability to read a ruler (understand difference between standard and metric) * Attentiveness to detail and organization * Excellent interpersonal skills * Willingness to identify issues and find resolutions * Safety oriented * Good documentation skills and record keeping * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Basic computer skills and ability to learn more advanced computer applications (i.e., MRP and MES) * Basic math skills * Ability to: * **Wear an air hood and pass PS1 test (Medical Surveillance Program) ** * Work overtime, weekends, and alternate between shifts as needed * Lift 35 pounds * Stand for the majority of the shift and climb steps as needed * Interact and communicate with a cross functional team including team leaders, process engineers, skilled trades, scheduling and quality assurance associates * Be patient and conscientious, as some line operations are very repetitious * Identify, conceptualize, and solve problems * Work independently as well as in a team environment * Positively influence teammates and associates * Adapt to change and shift to other manufacturing areas on short notice * Wear a headset throughout the shift Desired Job Qualifications: * Two years post-high school education * Minimum of 3 years prior experience operating complex manufacturing equipment * Experience operating powered industrial vehicles (fork trucks, pallet jacks, etc.) * Familiarity with MESA/LIMS * Familiar with quality control systems (ISO/GMP) Export Controlled Access Required: This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information.
