We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Associate to join our West Coast team in Santa Clara, California. In this role, you will ensure ongoing confidence in compliance with EH&S regulations, providing a safe workplace and protecting the environment. You will drive EH&S performance, including tactical and strategic improvement efforts involving: Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Environmental and Occupational Health. The ideal candidate will: * Be passionate about providing EH&S support across multiple divisions * Be passionate about developing, implementing and continually improving EH&S Processes * Be energized by working for a world-class manufacturer and collaborating on cross-functional teams * Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships Responsibilities include: * Taking ownership of and being accountable for driving EH&S performance * Coordinating with plant and divisional EH&S Associates to ensure risk management and confidence in compliance with EH&S requirements while meeting operational and business needs. * Developing, implementing, and continually improving EH&S programs, practices, and procedures * Mentoring and supporting the site EH&S teams * Training and coaching associates in their EH&S related practices * Driving EH&S risk assessments for processes and equipment, including prioritization, development, and implementation of appropriate controls * Collecting, analyzing, and reporting EH&S metrics * Acting as a point of contact with various regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, attorneys, etc. * Partnering with the global EH&S team as appropriate to drive alignment and integration * Driving incident investigations to identify root cause and corrective/preventive actions * Engaging and participating with new-product development teams early in the design process to ensure ergonomic principles, safety controls, etc., are incorporated into design * Partnering with Occupational Health for effective Case Management involving injured/ill associates * Providing training and education as necessary to achieve desired EH&S performance * Identifying and understanding appropriate regulations and participating in compliance-gap analysis Required Job Qualifications: * Bachelor degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field (e.g.: Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Public Health, etc.) * At least 2 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment * Demonstrated: * Success in identifying, assessing and controlling EH&S risk * Organizational priority-setting skills, attention to detail and follow-through * Understanding of risk management * Proven problem solving skills including incident investigation and root cause analysis * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to: * Prepare and submit reports * Flex schedule to work off-shift hours if needed * Implement and manage EH&S processes * Develop and implement practical and effective risk-reduction solutions * Drive completion of multiple projects and priorities with competing resource needs * Build consensus and influence a diverse group of Associates in safe behaviors and practices * Effectively lead yourself and contribute in a team environment * Actively engage and partner with manufacturing and technical Associates * Travel up to 10% Desired Job Qualifications: * CSP Certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and/or CIH Certification by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene * Experience with process/equipment hazard risk analysis tools * Knowledge of: * EH&S management systems (e.g. ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) * EH&S related consensus standards and industry best practices This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information.
