Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reviews Job Requirements, Sales orders and verbal requests to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Unloads and unpacks incoming shipments. Counts, measures, or weighs articles to verify contents of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or storage receipts. Attaches identification data onto article. Records factors causing goods to be returned. Examines articles for defects and sorts articles according to extent of defect. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Assigns tagged material to appropriate bin locations. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers. Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock. Uses computer to enter records and maintains computer generated inventory records. Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant, picks up items from several locations for shipment, and deliver material as directed. Maintains loading dock in good order; Operates forklift, pallet jacks, and other power tools. Assists in inspection quarantine of non-conforming material (NCM) from all departments, determines defective issues, prepares appropriate records for purchasing, and maintains control of quarantined NCM through disposition. Assists in education of other employees regarding NCM. Follows all Company personnel policies and process procedures. Maintains friendly, cooperative relations with customers, company personnel and management. Ensure that all internal company communications, financial information, pricing information, plans and strategies are kept confidential.
