Internship for Software Engineer (Summer 2018) Job Locations US-IA-Cedar Rapids ID 2018-3530 Business Unit Internship Overview Support the design, development and testing of safety-critical server applications for Wabtec Railway Electronics (WRE), a leading supplier of technology-based products and services for the rail and transit industries. Responsibilities Programming knowledge in the Linux and Microsoft Windows .NET environments, using C, C++, C#, and/or Java Participate in coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting software Write code that is readable, maintainable, extensible, and correct Work independently or with a team to develop solutions that meet project requirements within the program schedule and budget constraints Make independent technical contributions in support of program objectives, as well as interacting with other Wabtec or contract software and systems engineers and customers Facilitate support for fault isolation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities during software integration and validation testing Qualifications Near term or nearly complete BS in Software Engineering / Computer Science / Electrical / Electronics Engineering Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely High degree of attention to detail Self-driven, results-oriented and a clear focus on high quality Self motivated; bias for action Any related work experience a plus *Relocation and housing assistance not available for internship.
